There are several groups of organized national street gangs, local street gangs, prison gangs, motorcycle clubs, ethnic, and organized crime gangs operating in major cities in the U.S.A. Over 33,000 active gangs are at work, negatively influencing youngsters in neighborhoods and communities.
The FBI’s National Gang Intelligence Center, established in 2005, collaborates with the Safe Streets Task Forces, the Transnational Anti-Gang Task Forces and other civic agencies to help curb the gang problem that is rampant in the U.S.A.
